Well, I have had a very bad week. My dad died on August 30th. He had a fall and hit his head. Mom had gone to bed about 9 p.m. and dad liked to stay up and comtemplate life late into the nite. He must have fallen about midnight and mom woke @ 2ish a.m., called us and when we got there he had been gone a while. It was very difficult and sad. I will miss my daddy so much, he was 70... too young to be gone and leave his wife of 49 yrs and all of us. He was going to have his first great grandchild born in January; my first grandbaby; and his mom (who is 92) first great-great grandchild. OMG... the enormity of it all..... He will be so missed.
He is one of those persons whom everyone loved dearly. I cannot think of one single person who has had ANYTHING bad go say about him. He was a Pisces, warm, affectionate, caring, dedicated to family, loving, honest,kind..... My 13 yr old son said when I told him Papa had died..... Mom, he is the only man I know true to his word..... kinda deep for a 13yr old... but my kids are very wise that way.

I want to tell you about the butterfly stories that have been happening. It is very bittersweet.
On Sunday Aug 26th, dad and mom were around the campfire at dusk. As he was sitting there telling her how much he loved it up there, a Monarch butterfly was fluttering around him. Usually butterflies are not around at dusk as we all know... being day time critters. Mom and dad laughed at the butterfly.

Kira (my eldest pregnant with the first grandchild, great grandchild and great-great grandchild) was swimming in her in-laws pool on Wednesday Aug 29th and there were 4 Monarch butterflies fluttering around her. (unusual for them to be around water) and her Father inlaw commented that there were no flowers around and where did they come from???

The day dad died August 30th , I was sitting in my backyard about 7 p.m. sniffling and thinking of dad, when a Monarch butterfly started fluttering around my head. I got up to check the dogs and it followed me.... it stayed around me for about 3 minutes. I told Phil and he said it was my dad. (just realize that at this time - none of us had shared stories about the butterflies)

The day after dad died (August 31), Phil was blacktopping our driveway, when a Monarch butterfly landed on his shoulder, he was startled and it flew off.

When we all started talking, we were amazed and started to cry.... dad is around and now Monarch butterflies will have a new meaning for all of us.

So, not much stitching being done, but I will get to it. Lots to do and many memories to relive.

Love peace and joy..... go hug your daddy today!!!! Love Lynn
